Supreme, Shrek, and Shakira Is a Triple Treat

Five months into the year (five!?), how’s your 2023 bingo card looking? So far, it’s certainly delivered on surprises, both pleasant and unwelcome, making it another predictably unpredictable ride. Don’t take a breath just yet, though; Shakira is wearing a Supreme Shrek tee. Shakira has been having a moment recently. Unfortunately, not for the best reasons. After somewhat of a quiet period following her Super Bowl performance alongside Jennifer Lopez in 2020, Shakira was forced back into the spotlight, detailing her split for 12-year partner and father of her children, ex-professional footballer Gerard Piqué. https://www.instagram.com/p/CUhbGxsoetc/ What followed would be months of a very public fallout, coming to a head with Shakira’s explosive single “BZRP Music Session #53,” in which she aired out her ex’s betrayal and the name of his new partner. Yikes. Living up to her She Wolf persona, Shakira has ridden the wave of public support she’s received following the split to reclaim..

Wales Bonner’s Latest Sambas Ask: Tongue up or Down?

Highsnobiety aims to provide our readers with the latest updates in the sneaker world. However, we cannot verify the reliability of any unauthorized leaks or rumors unless this information is provided directly by the brands themselves. Grace Wales Bonner is yet to put a foot wrong when it comes to her and her adidas Originals collaborations. https://www.instagram.com/p/CeOm7YPj3EZ/ Since their debut release in late 2020, the pair have gone on to drop banger after banger, including a slew of collaborative adidas Sambas which have played a big part in the silhouette’s recent rise. Now with Spring/Summer 2023 fast-approaching, it looks as if we’re beginning to embark on a new chapter of Wales Bonner x adidas Originals, after in-hand images of more collaborative sneaks have started surfacing online. https://www.instagram.com/p/CrfpMFVqSjf/ As expected, the Samba again makes another appearance — this time in brown, “ecrtin” and “almyel” colorway and a previously-seen metallic silver —..

CUPRA Makes Its Green Dreams An Even Greener Reality At The Formula-E

It may not have been in the races themselves, but CUPRA has been breaking record after record since its inception. The Barcelona-born brand is a hot newcomer in the automotive industry, having come to life only five years ago in 2018. Since its launch, CUPRA has sold over 300,000 cars making it the fastest-growing brand in Europe, and this year, the car creators achieved record sales in Q1 with over 46,500 vehicles sold — now that’s some serious growth. Not one to shy away from the spotlight (which it quite frankly deserves), CUPRA made sure to leave its powerful mark on the Formula-E(lectric) race events in Berlin last weekend, with surprise after surprise lined up for the curious guests. Since 2011, the Formula-E races have been popping up all over the world, but this Berlin iteration was particularly important for CUPRA, whose largest consumer base lies in Germany. The brand’s ‘Exponential Impulse’ event saw CUPRA do more than debut its commercial with fellow Barcelonian Rosalía ..

Reign Judge’s Style Reigns Supreme

In this FRONTPAGE interview, we catch up with model extraordinaire Reign Judge for an in-depth assessment of their personal style. We all get dressed, but some folks get dressed better. What’s their secret? Well, for one, the best-dressed always look effortless. Even if one does put a lot of thought into their look, to appear perpetually uncaring is the je ne sais quoi that separates the swag from the swagless. Because she is of exemplary taste, Reign Judge, naturally, relishes thoughtlessness. “Getting dressed doesn’t really ever take longer than, like, 15 minutes,” she laughs. “And even that’s like, ‘Damn, I’ve been thinking about this for too long.’” Great personal style doesn’t mean dressing any one way or even limiting your taste, it just means knowing how to handle your clothes, as Judge knows. “I have so many clothes, it’s actually a little bit concerning,” Judge says. “But I’ve gotten my closet to a point where I can pick any item and it’s going to work in some way.” Judge, ..

Twitter Blue’s ‘Deverification’ Disaster Spells Trouble for the Internet

Last week, Twitter attempted to pull everyone who isn’t paying for Twitter Blue’s verified check mark, including celebrities and public figures (aka the people we still use Twitter to keep up with). There were always rumors Twitter and Instagram would eventually sell the coveted blue check mark anointed to public figures, but it was unclear what the value of purchasing one was. The fact that a blue check mark wasn’t for sale almost made them more appealing, noting your page held an elevated voice. Twitter Blue is a subscription that sells blue check marks for profiles and gives access to new features like editing tweets and identity verification. The AP reports that estimated first-month sales for Twitter Blue subscriptions clocked in at around 300,000. Musk’s bet of increasing subscriptions via “the de-verification” backfired horribly, as celebrities not only refused to pay but also began publicly denouncing the return of their blue check marks in droves when Twitter quietly concede..

Dua Lipa’s Impending Versace Collection Is Already Iconic

Dua Lipa seems to be everywhere right now. If she isn’t wearing never-before-seen Tiffany diamond necklaces at the Met Gala or even hosting her own flash afterparties she’s being cast in star-studded movies like Barbie. So the fact the Highsnobiety Frontpage alum co-designed Versace’s “La Vacanza” women’s collection shouldn’t really come as a surprise. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cr0L64gv-0c/ The 27 year old, who also co-chaired this year’s Met Gala, has been revealed as the latest high-profile name to collaborate with Donatella Versace on the Italian house’s High Summer collection, following in the similar footsteps of Christopher Kane and Kim Jones. https://www.instagram.com/p/CryJZeos6ms/ Revealed in an IG post on May 4, Donatella revealed that the collection will be debuted in Cannes on May 23 (the same time as the resort town’s famous film festival), at a currently-undisclosed location. “Working with Dua on this collection has been very exciting and I love the dynamic betwee..

Shop an Exclusive Psilocybin-Fueled MSFTSrep Collection Here

With a very recognizable personal style and a number of footwear collaborations under his belt already, Jaden is no stranger to the world of fashion. Since 2012, he and Willow have headed up the label MSFTSrep — a project that has arguably never got the airtime that it perhaps deserves. The label produces unisex collections offering inclusive style for every human being, aiming to make the wearer feel part of something bigger. Much like many of Jaden’s previous projects, MSFTSrep takes a strong stance on environmental issues, leaning into methods like upcycling and avoiding animal-based fabrics. The latest drop from the brand comes in the form of an exclusive collection for Italian retailer Luisaviaroma. Centered on the power of psilocybin, the active element of magic mushrooms, MSFTSrep x Luisaviaroma is a colorful affair that’s rounded out by bold graphics and scientific quotations. Consisting of a hoodie, two T-shirts, a pair of jeans, and a skate deck, the collection is short ..

Shop the Nike Jordan 1 High Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse Early Here

The Jordan 1 may not be as hyped as it was, say, two years ago, but it remains one of the first silhouettes to be chosen for collaborations and hyped limited editions. The latest major Air Jordan 1 collaboration that has caught our eye is the Nike Jordan 1 High Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse which is set to release on May 20, but you can secure it already at StockX. Building on the timeless appeal of the original Jordan 1 Chicago colorway, the Nike Jordan 1 High Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse features a white leather base, red overlays, and black trims. In fact, the color scheme is so closely related to the shoe’s original colorway that, from a distance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it is the OG. It’s not. Closer inspection reveals an array of patchwork fabrics ranging from patent leather to suede and even graphic hits to the lacing column and collar. The varying materials have been carefully chosen to mimic the groundbreaking animation style used in the 2018 Spider-Ma..

Balenciaga Fall 2023 Is a Return to Form

Visit the original post to see all 30 images from this gallery. There’s no way to talk about Balenciaga in 2023 without mentioning its ad campaign scandal and how the luxury house has attempted to move on in the intervening months. Balenciaga returned to the runway, dropped several new capsule collections, and has now finally unveiled its first proper seasonal campaign since the entire affair, highlighting its Fall 2023 looks. Still, the scars linger. Balenciaga’s purported Supreme collab materialized online after it was apparently canceled and, even to this day, you can scarcely mention the Demna-helmed label’s name on social media without drawing at least a whisper of outrage. But here we are. The intent behind Balenciaga’s decision to issue this Fall 2023 lookbook is clear: it’s only moving forward, and it’s doing so by looking back. The Fall 2023 collection comprises looks similar to the ones we saw at Balenciaga’s FW23 runway presentation back in March, with a surprise here an..

Patta & Best Company Are Celebrating Personal Style

Patta’s collaborative strategy is always one of caution. Not caution in the sense they’re afraid of failure, more that they want to ensure they approach each and every collaborative endeavor with the same passion and drive as the last. Take its most recent New Balance link up for example, where the Dutch label created a poignant narrative of family and friends around the release of what was, stripped back, a simple 990 silhouette. In short: a Patta collaboration has to be organic, which is exactly what its Spring/Summer 2023 collection with Best Company is. https://www.instagram.com/p/CrsZ0xrsSqu/ For those not au fait with Best Company, the predominantly menswear label played a pioneering role in transforming sportswear into a status symbol across Europe in the mid-1980s. The Paninaro subculture (an Italian equivalent of the UK’s “casual culture”) became renowned for wearing the label religiously as they rebelled against Milan’s traditional culinary standards. https://www.instagr..

Union LA’s 2023 Air Jordan 1s Are Sight to See

Early this year, whispers began to swirl that Union LA would deliver another set of collaborative Air Jordan 1s following their coveted 2018 pairs which fetch thousands on the resale market. Many expected the latest to be along the lines of the previous AJ1s with some fresh schemes, of course. However, recently surfaced images of the alleged 2023 Union LA x Air Jordan 1 sneaker reveal we’re in for a fresh and unique spin from the Los Angeles brand. These are not it.. not even close https://t.co/H0qFDzTtqn — Aviator (@MrUnloved1s) March 28, 2023 In addressing the most obvious and distinctive feature, Union LA’s AJ1s boasts a woven detail that wraps the upper from the toe to the heel. If you’re getting vibes from a particular Nike shoe (cough, the Footscapes), then your intuition is correct. The Union LA x Air Jordan 1’s upper undoubtedly draws cues from Nike’s Air Footscape Woven, known for its eye-catching woven concepts on the upper (Nike has been prepping the model for its comeb..

$87k Foosball? $22k Golf Bags? Don’t Play With Louis Vuitton’s Sporting Goods

Visit the original post to see all 17 images from this gallery. Louis Vuitton’s luxury sporting goods aren’t inherently surprising. We’ve already witnessed wild luxury tchotchkes aplenty, from $1.3k Tic-Tac-Toe sets to CELINE hydrofoils, and we’re not really fazed by the exorbitant prices any more. Really, the most surprising thing about Louis Vuitton’s $87k foosball tables, $22k golf bags, $2.6k dumbbells, and $810 jump ropes is simply that they exist at all. Part of Louis Vuitton’s Art of Living collection, these ultra-indulgent sporting goods are ostensibly intended as gifts for Mother’s Day or perhaps a birthday, but you have to be living in a Succession-tier price bracket to consider any of these things giftable (whatever happened to quiet luxury, BTW?). https://www.instagram.com/p/CrGgyUCsrWg/ The Highsnobiety editorial team was tickled enough by the sheer audacity of Louis Vuitton’s indulgent accessories that we even went through the Art of Living collection piece by piece,..
