Nike & adidas Coming Together & More Feature in This Week’s Top Comments Roundup

We understand that this week has been jarring, tiring and frustrating for most of us. Whether you’ve taken to the streets in protest, are educating yourselves and others, or simply checking in with your community, we thank everyone who’s doing something to combat systematic racism. In times like these, our weekly comments roundup feels almost too frivolous to post, but we’ve decided to go ahead anyways, hoping that our readers’ biting and silly remarks can be some needed comic relief in an otherwise grim news cycle. This week, in a powerful move of solidarity Nike and adidas took a united stance against racism. While making a powerful statement about setting differences aside in the face of adversity, some of our clever readers couldn’t help but remind us that this still doesn’t make it okay to mix Swooshes with the Three Stripes. We also want to highlight some of our less pressing news for its obvious ridiculousness. Notably, we wrote a post about how clothes made cars cool again – ..

Rumored Apple iPhone 13 Design Just Leaked Online

Apple‘s iPhone 12 hasn’t even dropped yet, but rumors regarding the iPhone 13 have already started to circulate. Yesterday, Twitter user “Fudge” leaked a possible layout for Apple’s next-generation handset. Most notably, the outline reveals four lenses and an accompanying LiDAR sensor. Unlike the iPad Pro, the LiDAR module isn’t integrated into the hump area. Instead, it’s located below the camera array. Take a look below. The supposed layout, but this early on could mean nothing for 13 series final design so take with 🧂 pic.twitter.com/9JKsVPELGQ — Fudge (@choco_bit) May 27, 2020 The Twitter leaker does stress that, this far out from the release, the design should be taken with a “huge” grain of salt. Nevertheless, Fudge also suggests that the iPhone 13 may feature a 64-megapixel shooter with a wide lens and 1x optical zoom (6x digital zoom) as well as a 40MP telephoto lens with 3x to 5x optical zoom (15-20x digital zoom), 40MP ultra-wide with 0.25x “optical reverse zoom,” and a..

10 Asian/Asian-American Designers You Need to Put on Your Radar

To commemorate Asian-Pacific Heritage Month, we’re spotlighting brands helmed by Asian-Americans to put on your radar. Asian designers have long been an important part of fashion’s creative engine — from Rei Kawakubo’s endless innovations to Alexander Wang’s ability to capture the downtown zeitgeist with an offhand sense of cool. But in recent years, Asian-American designers have been particularly integral to the industry. The aughts saw a wave of successful designers like Jason Wu, Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Thakoon Panichgul, and Prabal Gurung, and now, a new generation is starting to rise up. While some are infiltrating the ranks of high-end fashion (Laura Kim at Oscar de la Renta and her own label Monse, Joseph Altuzarra) many are born of the streetwear and post-streetwear movements, creating clothing that not only reflects their own bifurcated cultural identities but also the rapidly changing tastes of a new, digitally native generation.
