Designed by both Tinker Hatfield and Eric Avar, the Air Flight Huarache was made famous by the Michigan Wolverines’ “Fab Five” basketball team, which included Jimmy King, Jalen Rose, Chris Webber, Ray Jackson, and Juwan Howard. With the return of the “OG” colorway, Nike Sportswear is also getting ready to launch a new “Nike Gear” collection that includes the popular basketball silhouette.
This offering of the Nike Air Flight Huarache nods to the brand’s retro apparel line from the ’90s. It comes constructed with a neoprene bootie, leather overlays, and mesh detailing. White and Cream covers majority of the upper while having Pink and Blue accents along with “Nike Gear” branded insoles to give off that classic retro vibe. Golden “AIR” embroidery on the heels atop a two-tone midsole and Blue/Pink rubber outsole completes the design.
