adidas Originals has readied a two-pack of new Nizza designs: the Nizza Hi and a regular low-cut iteration. Featuring materials divergent from standard Nizza releases and detachable stash pouches, this duo is supposedly inspired by '80s counter-culture and the rebellious spirit of Generation X.
Nizza His arrive in a crisp white leather equipped with an all-over tonal print that combines Xs and Trefoil logos. This repeated graphic takes on a high-gloss sheen that offers slight shades of Dior's popular B23. The inner tongue features an orange text hit, while tan leather on toeboxes, throats and heel tabs finalize the look.
Low-cut Nizzas discard outward-facing leather almost entirely in favor of a shaggy steel gray suede. Small leather pieces do appear on the tongue badge and heel tab, while a rich purple leather provides a premium feel on the sockliners.
Although the materials are vastly divergent, each style boasts common threads. Both come with a detachable stash pouch loaded with an extra set of laces, and feature the same rubberized midsole with extended toe caps. A final connection is provided by the duo's strange product descriptions: the High discusses "perfecting the art of bad attitudes" by "cutting class and stealing rolling papers," while the Low advises that you "slip on your Wayfarers so nobody can see your eyes."
These ambiguous depictions combined with both styles' April 20 release date indicates that they may well be a "4/20" release, but the connection to the recreational "holiday" is unclear. Nevertheless, you can expect an arrival on the adidas webstore that day, with retail prices of $120 USD for the Hi and $100 for the Low.
If you'd rather slip into some sandals than spark up these Nizzas, Kanye West's adidas YEEZY line has readied four colorways of the YEEZY Slide.
