Celine has tapped André Butzer for an artfully rendered iteration of its Blank Mid Lace Up Sneaker. After unveiling its '90s-inspired mid-tops from back in April, Celine has offered a sleeker alternative to its eclectic footwear lineup.

Butzer is a Berlin-based artist who has been known for his semi-abstract paintings that often take shape in the form of cartoon-like characters and conceptual objects. The quirky sketch etched over the side of this shoe is one such example. Accented against a sleek black canvas foundation, the drawing has been made into a fleece patch, outlined with contrasting white embroidery. It features an anthropomorphic figure with a rounded body and an ambivalent expression. The top of the shoe is stamped with gold "Celine" branding, complemented by tonal laces, metal eyelets and smooth calfskin panels. As a final note, "CELINE" is subtly debossed over the leather panel at the heel counter, while a cream-colored toecap and midsole round up the silhouette's design.

Celine's André Butzer-commissioned Mid Lace Up Sneakers are currently available at 24s for $590 USD.
