If you were introduced to Donald Glover through his musical moniker Childish Gambino, you might still associate him with a brown tan APC shearling jacket and loose-neck white t-shirt.
It’s the uniform that he wore during the release of his Because The Internet (2013) album, which cemented his place as a musician — and it’s the first time that I really started to take note of his style.
Widely accepted as being a genius multi-hyphenate creative, having excelled in music, acting, stand-up comedy, directing, and much more, that APC coat was an early hint that Glover’s fashion taste is yet another string that he has in his bow. And since then, things have only gotten wilder.

While Glover’s seemingly boundless talent has arguably overshadowed his distinctive sartorial tastes, recent years have made us stand up and count him as one of the best (and sometimes most experimental) dressers around.
Most notably, we have been forced to take note as the 39-year-old steps out in tiny shorts, oversized tailoring, and even a low-cut sheer jumpsuit for Beyonce’s Studio 54-themed party. The This Is America singer has slowly become a name to look out for on the red carpet as you know he won’t be following the crowd in an understated ensemble — as was most recently proven at the Golden Globes.

Plus, in case that wasn’t enough, Glover has appeased us sneakerheads by teaming up with New Balance to design a sneaker capsule.
Basically, there is truly nothing that Donald Glover can’t do, and that includes putting together an eye-catching look. Don’t believe me? Have a look at some of the ‘fits below.
When we said that Glover likes his shorts to fit short, we really meant it. One of many times that the Atlanta native has weighed in on the inseam debate by stepping out in teeny tiny legwear, few people have made short shorts look better.
As we all should, Donald Glover seems to have a love of all things BODE. That includes its custom tailoring, fluffy fleece jackets (there’s more on that in a second), and, of course, its signature quilted sets. Showing up to an event for his hit TV show Atlanta, where his character Earn also wears BODE, Glover let the two-piece ensemble do the talking and didn’t even throw a t-shirt on underneath.
Here is the previously mentioned sherpa jumper moment; Glover always seems to forefront comfort in his looks but it doesn’t get much cozier than this. Paired with some wide-leg trousers, white sneakers, and an orange beanie, his BODE jumper is acting as the centerpiece for the look.
Summer suiting can be difficult to get right, especially when you opt for a short-sleeve blazer/shirt as the only piece you wear on the top half of your look. However, thanks to some oversized proportions and a lemon sorbet colorway, Glover pulls it off effortlessly.
We’ve been fighting the corner for wearing tank tops on their own for a little while now and this outfit is providing ample weight to our argument. Accessorizing with a yellow bucket hat that we’ve seen Glover in multiple times and a brown leather bag, the multi-hyphenate creative has once again made the art of putting together an outfit look like a doddle.
Another pastel-suiting moment that came in quick succession to the one shown previously, this time Glover opted for a full pink look and wore a T-shirt under his blazer. Again, the oversized tailoring here makes the outfit.
