Finnish sneaker brand Karhu has unveiled its latest “Metro” pack, a two-piece footwear release inspired by the architecture and design of Helsinki.

Combining these architectural influences with elements of nature, design and the rich sporting history Finland is known for, Karhu has reworked its Fusion 2.0 sneaker for Spring/Summer 2020.

Each sneaker is a nod to Helsinki’s new network of metro stations. Different architects each designed eight new stations on the route from central Helsinki to Espoo, with Matinkylä being one of the brand’s favourites. Frost and summer clouds cover the ceiling of the platform area which is formed from varying aluminium sheets painted in different shades of white.

Referencing the ceiling design, both Fusion 2.0s are decked out in different kinds of technical mesh mixed with leather overlays, each with a colour palette of shades of whites and orange accents.

The Karhu Fusion 2.0 “Metro” Pack will launch on Friday the 29th of May 2020 at Karhu.com.
