After kicking the year off with a new GEL-Kiril silhouette, highly-regarded Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov has worked with ASICS to create yet another original style: the women’s-exclusive GEL-Aurania. The second new silhouette Kostadinov has conceptualized for ASICS — and his first original ASICS women's design — the GEL-Aurania draws heavily from the ASICS archive, but adds bold conceptual twists.

Made to match his women's SS20 line, Kostadinov's latest offering presents a precision-crafted build that's centered around the striking lines of the ASICS spiral logo. The top half draws from the SKYSENSOR Slash JJ, while the midsole's cushioning unit takes its inspiration from the GEL-QUANTUM Infinity's springy heel unit.

Uppers feature a cut-out slit towards the forefoot and an appealing asymmetrical lacing system, using medial eyestays that reach well onto the throat and looping anchor points on the lateral side. This technical build sits atop a sizable spiral logo, a mesh base and various patent leather overlays. Midsoles use a beefy GEL puck in the heel and EVA foam in the forefoot. Two colorways are set to be available — one a mechanical mix of black and grey with pops of burgundy and green, the other a desert-like blend of brown, burnt orange and red.

Both styles are set to release on the ASICS webstore come April 24, and are priced at $180 USD.
