New Balance is going to the basics with its latest take on the Made in US 990v5, which follows the shoe brand’s most recent Horween and CORDURA AFT-clad M990RG5 collaboration alongside HAVEN.

Building off of the more minimalistic collaborations such as its latest joint-effort alongside BEAMS, the upper on the new iteration of the famed silhouette features the brand’s signature gray style. Supple suede and mesh panels have been doused in “Kool Grey,” with black contrasts featured on the shoe’s toe box, collar, tongue, and heel portions. The U.S. flag logo on the tongue also takes on a monochromatic scheme, opting for sleek black and white. The midsole also takes form in two-tone black and white colorblocking, with the white forefoot halves of the ENCAP Reveal midsole equally pertaining to the minimalistic grayscale aesthetic.

Take a detailed look at the Made in US 990v5 in “Kool Grey/Black” above. Pairs are currently available via New Balance’s webstore for $175 USD.
