Nike Sportswear has been rolling out its new summer sandal lineup over the past weeks, and the latest style to make its debut is the Asuna slide. Joining new models like the Nike ACG-inspired Canyon Sandal and the Air Max 90 Slide plus old standbys like the Benassi, the Asuna Slide offers a bold look that's in line design-wise with popular Japanese sandal brands like Suicoke.
Releasing in three colors — "University Red," "Triple Black" and "Black/White" — the Asuna's primary feature is its molded, ridged strap. This features a dual-layer design with an asymmetrical toggle lacing system that allows for a customizable fit, plus a small branded hit for Swoosh-specific flair. Under the strap sits a soft foam footbed, which itself is molded atop a toothed tread and a a M.C. Escher-esque square pattern for versatile grip on "sand, sidewalks and trails," in Nike's own words.
The "University Red" colorway is currently sold out, but the "Triple Black" and "Black/White" are both available in select sizes on the Nike webstore. The retail price is set at $45 USD.
Elsewhere in the expansive world of Nike, Jordan Brand's ever-popular Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG is set to release in a women's "Satin Snake" makeup this August.
