Since being officially introduced in January, Nike Sportswear‘s Air Max 2090 has already hit the market in a wide swath of colorways — the latest of which to drop is a crisp “Wolf Grey.” Equal parts technical and classic, the 2090 is both a homage to the past and a step towards the future.
Made almost entirely of TPE and synthetics save for the mesh heels, uppers are dressed in a light grey shade. This is accented by a black underlay and ridged black heel piece that salutes the Air Max 90, one of the 2090’s main design inspirations. Vivid yellow gets into the mix as well, appearing on the cut-out tongue detail, select seams and the heel’s pull tab.
Midsoles start with a white EVA foam forefoot before moving to a ridged black heel with a texture that matches the aforementioned heel piece. This encases a beefy black Air Max unit, similar in shape and style to the Air Max 200. Black outsoles finalize the look.
The Nike Air Max 2090 “Wolf Grey” is available now via the Nike webstore and at retailers like Foot Locker. The MSRP is set at $150 USD.
