It's been 25 years since Nike's Air Max 95 was first introduced, so to celebrate the influential silhouette's milestone birthday Nike Sportswear has introduced an "Era" iteration. Drawing its inspiration from mid-'90s style and culture, the "Era" — also known as the "Green Safari" combines bold patterns, colorful accents and special embellishments for a nod to its genesis.

Thanks to the stacked, anatomy-inspired side panels under the 95's mesh top layer there's plenty of real estate for ornamentation, the most notable of which is a stripe of grey zebra-printed material on the top strip. Below this sits eggshell-colored leather with a green and yellow Swoosh, green suede and more eggshell leather, respectively. Tongues and collars alike equip orange trim, and more rich green appears on the eyestays.

Signature circular logos on the tongues use an artful jumble of green, orange, purple and yellow. This is replicated in undeniably vibrant fashion on the insoles, which present a different graphic on the left and right feet. Flecked laces and purple heel graphics round off the top half. Down below, sail midsoles with what appear to be ultra-rich purple Air Max units provide cushioning. The look is completed by digital "NIKE-AIR" text on the outsole.

The Nike Air Max 95 "Era" will release via Nike SNKRS Japan and the Nike Hong Kong webstore June 2, and is priced at ¥19,800 JPY (approximately $184 USD).
