Thus far, Nike Basketball's LeBron Watch series has yet to make its way to King James' latest signature sneaker, but that could be changing in the new feature.
Leaked images show a upcoming "University Red/White-Black" LeBron 17 that's outfitted with red and black Knitposite on the upper, while the tongue reveals the likely inspiration behind this colorway, borrowing the arrow-adorned basketball emblem from the Air Max Uptempo '97 sneaker. The logo could also be a reference to one of Scottie Pippen's Air More Uptempo colorways. Due to the limited look provided by the leaked images, it's tough to say if any other details tie back to the '90s hoops models.
Rather than the LeBron Watch method used on prior signature models, it's also possible this colorway will see a standard release akin to the Air Jordan 6-inspired LeBron 17 make up from January.
This LeBron 17 "Uptempo" colorway is expected to release soon, although no confirmed date has been established.
