Nike is set to debut the Air Zoom Alphafly Next% in July, which is a model that utilizes the same performance technologies as the prototype shoe that Eliud Kipchoge wore when he broke the two-hour marathon barrier in October 2019.
This offering of the shoe comes dressed in a “Watermelon” color blocking. The runner features an AtomKnit upper that provides a lighter and more breathable version of Nike Flyknit. It rides on a ZoomX midsole fitted with a full-length carbon fiber plate, good for a sense of propulsion with each step, while having Zoom Air Pods added to the forefoot for enhanced energy return.
