Laika Studios, founded by Nike’s Phil Knight, released their first full-length animated film, Coraline, in February 2009. Limited to just 100 pairs, the Nike Dunk High “Coraline” wasn’t released to the general public.
Instead, the shoe could only be acquired through a secret code in the film’s credits that was then input into the movie’s promotional website.
Inspired by director Henry Selick’s hand-crafted style, the Nike Dunk High features a two-tone Grey canvas upper highlighted by hand-sewn visible seams and Black stitching as nod to the details in the film. Black buttons on the tongue and eyelets atop a glow-in-the dark outsole finishes the design.
