With Suicoke, the drive for fostering new ways to elevate footwear silhouettes is constant. Whether it be the brand's signature sandal models or collaborative Vibram shoes, the products typically center on forward-facing designs. To further this cadence, Suicoke introduces the new FUROSHIKI silhouette into its Fall/Winter 2022 fold.
The model features a wrap-style build, which is inspired by the Japanese practice of fabric folding that began around 710 B.C. During Japan's Nara period, the art of folding fabrics was meant to both package and protect an array of treasures and other items. As the technique has been utilized around the world, Suicoke united with longtime collaborative Vibram to envision a culturally cognizant and eye-catching new model.
Named "Futon," the FUROSHIKI silhouette which incorporates Vibram's previously established Wrapping Sole comes in high and low-top variations. What makes the silhouette stand out is its wrapped body done up in a heat-retentive padded fabric. Additionally, the silhouettes come in two colorways featuring beige/forest green/wheat/eggshell white and all-black. Finishing off the lightweight model are wrapping straps, heel tactical detailing and Vibram's Arctic Grip technology for enhanced traction.
Check out the silhouette in the gallery above. Priced at $350 USD and $375 USD, Suicoke's Futon releases today online.
