Highly coveted for Jumpman fans and the archive fashion crowd, the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 "Neutral Grey," also known as "Natural Grey," is now rumored for a return.
After the arrival of the New Beginnings pack, reports are now noting that an updated version of the Air Jordan 1 ’85 in the original "White/Neutral Grey" colorway is set to drop next year. If rumors are true, the release will serve as the first time Jordan Brand has retro'ed the two-tone mix since its debut as part of the original 1985 AJ1 lineup. The Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 "Neutral Grey" is expected to arrive with a high-quality white leather upper accented by grey panels to convey the signature ’85 high-top construction.
Despite serving as a popular colorway in the '80s, Nike and Jordan Brand have notably strayed away from "Neutral Grey" in favor of more color-based design scheme. But as interest in vintage styling and Nike's retro past has continued to grow so has the price of "Neutral Grey" sneakers. Aside from OG Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 "Neutral Grey" fetching almost $4,000 USD on the resale market, the similarly colored Nike Penetrator (1984), Penetrator GT (1985), Penetrator S (1986), Convention (1985) and more have also seen noticeable price spikes.
Reportedly priced at $200 USD, the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 "Neutral Grey" is now rumored to re-release sometime early 2021. Those interested in an OG pair of the highly sought after sneaker can find them at retailers like Flight Club.
