2 Chainz attends Rihanna's 5th Annual Diamond Ball

2 Chainz is reportedly being sued by the family company of the late Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar, for a minimum of $10 million over trademark violations, according to TMZ.

Ecobar Inc.’s lawsuit claims that the rapper’s Escobar Restaurant and Tapas establishments are in violation of federal law due to using Escobar’s name without authorization. Not only is the name an alleged trademark violation, but Escobar’s likeness is used on the two restaurant locations, a website, social media, merchandise, and even menu items without permission.

The company accuses 2 Chainz of using the name and likeness to generate traffic and sales. In addition to the $10 million minimum settlement, the estate is also seeking an injunction blocking future use of the name and likeness at both locations.

This isn’t the first controversy 2 Chainz has faced over his Atlanta restaurants. Just last month, authorities shut down both locations for violating social distancing rules.
