New Balance and grey color palettes go together like Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, so the brand's famed 996 is now taking on these signature shades once again. Originally debuting in 1998 and deviating heavily from its 990 series predecessors in build, the 996 is a cult classic piece of New Balance history.

Mesh throats and toeboxes are overlaid with soft suede panels, all of which are dressed in various shades of grey — save for a pop of tan towards the heel. Hi-vis reflective silver is present on both the midfoot's N logo and the heel tab, the latter of which also features a black embroidered NB motif. Fabric tongue tags add a touch more branded flair, while white laces and tongue/collar trim tying the top half together.

Eggshell TPU heel clips bring traditional stability, and the ENCAP midsole features dual-density white and grey foam for support and style in equal measures. Black rubber outsoles round off the look.

The New Balance 996 "Grey" is available now at retailers like KITH, priced at $170 USD.
