Rick Owens broke up the usual uniform of grey, black and neutral-toned footwear earlier this season, dropping an unexpected "Irise" pink edition of the label's Geobasket high-tops. The brand has now doubled down on the iridescent colorway, coating the metallic hue on its Maximal Runner sneakers as a bold option for spring.
Like its duskier black and beige counterparts, the Irise version is crafted in buffed calfskin leather and distinguished by its bondage-like design on the upper. Yellow laces are wrapped around the shoe for a sunny contrast, while beige details on the tongue and collar balance it out. It's rounded out with classic elements like an almond toe, silver-tone hardware and off-white rubber midsole for a clean finish.
Rick Owens' Pink Maximal Runner Sneakers in "Iris" are priced at $1,320 USD and available to shop now at SSENSE's webstore.
In other new releases for the designer, Owens has also experimented with shape and texture. He recently dropped a towering pair of Italian calf-hair Chelsea boots as one of his latest androgynous offerings.
