Every year, Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook pays homage to his late best friend and high school teammate Khelcey Barrs III with special iterations of his Jordan Brand signature models. In 2020, Brodie is saluting Barrs doubly with a duo of commemorative styles — the Westbrook One Take and the Why Not Zer0.3 "KB3."

Although the inspiration may not be readily apparent, there's deep meaning hidden in this two-pack of special hoop kicks. The One Take's volt green upper and Why Not Zer0.3's tan and green shades are both loosely inspired, artfully altered takes on the tones used for military camouflage. This aims to represent how Westbrook and Barrs were always willing to "go to war" for one another. The Why Not Zer0.3 takes this inspiration a step farther with a straightforward "KB3" tag on its lateral side.

From a performance perspective each uses forefoot Zoom Air for cushioning, an ideal setup for Westbrook's ever-aggressive, endlessly attacking style of play. Deconstructed details and a translucent strap handle the lion's share of the style on the Why Not Zer0.3, while the takedown Westbrook One Take offers a jagged mudguard and midsole detailing.

The Jordan Westbrook One Take "KB3" is slated for a yet-to-be-specified summer release, while the Jordan Why Not Zer0.3 "KB3" will hit the Nike webstore May 11. The retail price for the former is an even $100 USD, while the latter will cost $130 USD.
