City Girls‘ new full-length album City on Lock leaked yesterday on Juneteenth. However, the Miami rap duo owned the not-according-to-plan release by officially dropping the album the same day along with a music video. And needless to say, fans are absolutely hyped.
The rappers have been planning their return for months now and have been recording the album since member JT’s release from prison in October 2019. However, HotNewHipHop reports that when the album surfaced online this week, it was in fact a leak.
Yung Miami addressed news of the leak noting that she was “disgusted” about what happened. “I’m so fuckin mad ppl are so fucking evil y’all leave me thee fuck alone,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. However, shortly thereafter, on the same day City Girls and their label did damage control, formally releasing the album and visuals for the lead single “Jobs.”
City on Lock features guest appearances from Yo Gotti, Lil Baby, Doja Cat, and Lil Durk. On the lead single, the girls boast that they no longer have to work regular “jobs” because of their success with rap. And the accompanying video features a hilarious sketch, where Yung Miami and JT flex just how little they care about a nine-to-five. Watch it below.

Despite the circumstances, fans still celebrated the album as the unexpected Juneteenth present it is and City Girls quickly began trending on Twitter. Check out some of the most hilarious reactions below.
